Congratulations
Florida! You have now given every posse, racist, teenage boy hating,
black man hating, cop wannabe, macho man, itching for a fight man...a
very good legal argument to "shoot and murder with a gun" in cold
blood...and then use "self defense, stand your ground, mistaken
identity, blah, blah, blah" as an excuse to get an acquittal.
Large number of people have already canceled their summer and winter vacation to Florida...including from Europe and Asia. They are afraid they could be mistaken for a criminal, or that racism could be hidden behind certain threatening behaviors, and then the people of the State, the press, the jury and the general public would all rally around the White American shooter/killer.
Watch the number of Americans getting shot in Europe and all the Europeans rallying around the shooter...because the victim was suspected of spying, surveillance or some kind of nefarious activity.
Now there is speculation the gun lobby groups (with plenty of "guns for self defense" selling points), the stand your ground lobby groups and the white supremacists groups poured plenty of funds to Zimmerman's counsel and his acquittal, and may even have bought or influenced the prosecution.
A blog in a European newspaper noted, "Those celebrating are mostly the Conservative Anglos of Florida...that is about 75% of the Whites. And as all smart proud daring and progressive Blacks have left the South it is the compliant congenial beaten down Blacks who will accept anything. They might even fly the confederate flag after this. Welcome to America with its reemerging Jim Crow laws, and possible modern day slavery of Blacks and other people of color...who will now be shot just for walking through predominantly white neighborhoods!"
This is the opinion of the world on America. Jeez, why can't Florida just disappear...after it gives away all its necessary compensations?
